Momma's growing up

Well we have advanced to the next stage of parenting. I have left the baby with other people. Basically since Nat was born there have been people reminding me that I had a life before he was born and that I shouldn't lost that just because he is hear, however because of various events going on in our lives I was totally enjoying being with him 24 hours a day. However, eventually life has to move forward and I had 2 big steps this week.

Saturday, a few of my girlfriends and I decided to have a girls day out and go to the movie. What was suppose to be a short 3 hours turned into a 6 hour adventure. Our movie time was cancelled but since we were already out and together we decided just to wait until the next showing, we went and had lunch and walked around the mall, while Poppa stayed with the baby. I am told that everything went well at home and they enjoyed themselves very much. Poppa even said that I could do that every Saturday if I wanted, but I think the planning process is too much. I had fun with my friends and was actually not as worried about leaving dad and baby without me as I has feared. I will admit that it was a little strange to be out without the little guy.

However, the bigger step came on Tuesday. I had made an appointment to see the dentist and just like going to the doctor I assumes that a baby in the carrier wouldn't be an issue. The office had other thoughts, they don't allow any children in the exam room for safety reasons, unless they are the patient. So I had to find a babysitter. I am not ready for a youngun to do that yet, so I called a good friend and she was more than willing to watch my cute little guy for an hour. I wasn't worried about him or her, but it was definitely strange to be out without the baby and know that he wasn't with a family member. He didn't seem to mind either separation from mom and I guess that means we are growing up.
