It seems hardly possible to already be through 2011. It still feels like we just started that January and here we are already into another one.
We had enjoyed a fun filled weekend with too many goodies, but we also got to see family, play with friends and enjoy a somewhat relaxing Sunday. I have to admit I was a little nervous about switching to the earlier time again, how in the world would we all get up and get dressed, plus how would the boys behave, but this morning was almost breezy. It might have helped that my parents were around to help in the last moments to get out the door, it might have helped that the boys have been a little house bound for a few weeks, but what ever the reason I didn't feel the stress when we got to church, the boys were relatively quiet during Sacrament Meeting, and that is a huge plus after the last 3 or 4 months.
Today was Bug's first week in primary (this is were the little kids go during adult Sunday School). He was a little scared at first so he asked (more like screamed and cried) his papa to come and sit with him. I actually serve in the primary so I was already there, but as is typical these days he didn't think I was good enough for the task. He was picked to help with several things and that made him more brave, by the time the kids separated to attend their own classes (age appropiate) he was ready to be left alone. When I picked him up afterward he was all smiles with a big picture he had colored and told me all about his class. Let's hope he remembers all the good stuff for next week.
Baba gets to stay in nursery for another 2 years (it seems like an awfully long time) but he did just fine without his older brother with him. When I checked up on him about half way through the morning I looked through the window to see him happily playing by himself and probably annoying every other person in the room by continually hitting the ELMO button on a Sesame Street toys.
I think not trying to be at church during lunch time, nap time and after a whole morning of being told "no you can't do that it's Sunday" makes a huge difference and I am more than happy to make the sacrifice of earlier morning and remembering to get everything ready on Saturday night.
This past year has been so full of so many blessings and I am a little sad to see it go, but I am looking forward to a new year with fresh opportunities to the things that we want to do. I have a few resolutions (I am trying to keep them fairly simple, or very broad).
~Stop Procrastinating, if I want to do something with the kids, I just need to do it.
~Making time for a few family vacations, camping, road trips, etc...
~I've set my goals now I just need to live up to them.
We hope to keep up the blog better this year too, with the new baby coming there will be a lot more happening, besides the boys are always good for a laugh.
