Hike the first

This was our weekly outing, A HIKE, I am trying to find all the little hikes and trails around our area (there is actually a lot) to help build up the boys stamina as well as getting out into nature which I love. This walk we took is one we were introduced to last year. It is a very short trail, it makes a small loop and runs by the mountain stream that only has water in it during the spring while the snow is melting. The boys were really excited to go and get out and they behaved pretty good for me. One of the things we are working on is the "staying together, don't run off" stuff. Baba is in the "don't hold my hand" for any reason at all phase and it gets tricky with all three children. So this hike and hopefully the others to come, will help us all learn what works. This particular trail and a couple others are actually stroller friendly, but I don't want to use the stroller and I want to be able to find the other trails that aren't so friendly (those ones usually have more fun things to see). Walking at the boys pace it take us about 30 minutes to make this circuit, by the end Bug was so tired he couldn't walk straight. Thus the building stamina, we need to do more endurance with them. Sometimes I think that because they seem to never stop at home they are good for a marathon, but really they don't do the same activity for more than a few minutes at a time, and they still haven't figured out the run around outside bit, they don't play tag or race, I hope someday that becomes a natural output of going outside.

Please forgive the picture of me, but when no one else is around I have to take the shot, and since I usually am behind the camera I realize there just aren't a lot of pictures of me in the first place. That is little Rory in a wrap, she has a red hat on as well so she's pretty much in disguise, but she's there and loved the hike too.
