I am not a big DIYer. I like the idea of staying cheap and the work you do has some pride and joy when it is all over, but I don't like having constant projects. I like to get the projects done and then would prefer to upkeep after that.
I painted our living room 10 years ago. I was somewhat inspired by the home makeover shows and chose "a color" verses a white or neutral. I wanted to go really bold, but was a little nervous and then A wasn't comfortable at all so we finally settled on a color I don't think either of us really liked, and then as the years passed and it faded (as all paint does) it started to look pepto pink. Over the weekend we decided it was time to move forward and just get the room repainted. We finalized on the colors, and I got to work on Tuesday, had a long and late day on Wednesday, but it is done and we love the change. It feels airier and fresh.
