What constitutes as a milestone? I have wondered this question many times during the course of the last year. Is the milestone the first time? or is it once it becomes a habit and they are good at it?

The current milestone is WALKING!!
Nat took his first steps about 6 weeks ago, on the very last day that we were in Kentucky. But assuming because of all the upheaval and changes he continued to just take 1 or 2 steps and then revert back to crawling, which he is very fast at so that might be the reason too. About a month ago he started taking 4 or 5 steps and at very random intervals. Over the last few weeks those steps have become more frequent and more at a time. Last week I marveled as he walked all the way across the living room, but still it was a one time deal. Until now about a week later he seems to prefer walking, and I would call him a walker, but as a milestone this is just a progression of the many little steps he's been taking for weeks. On another note, as I have watched him fall and crawl I have realized most of his life is still on the floor, so what is the incentive to walk at all? Crawling seems to be a more direct route.

Enough of the rambling, NAT IS WALKING and we are thrilled!!!!!

So many people told us we didn't want him to walk and don't push it, but as much trouble as he has gotten into while crawling I am willing to take the challenge. Maybe this way he will be motivated in less dangerous stunts for a while, at least.
