I started by taking the boys ice skating. I love ice skating and have been promising to take them for a long time, but I never felt comfortable taking all three kids by myself and skating is not a favorite activity of A. So he stayed home with Sissy, since she is still sporting an icky nose.
Anyway the boys and I had a great time. Bug got pretty good and by the end could get a couple of yards by himself without falling down, although I think the falling down was his favorite activity.
Baba got the idea in his head he needed onw of the hand carts. He was actually good and held my hand without falling down very often. Next time we get the hand cart.
After ice skating we picked up A and Sissy and and headed to the zoo. It was pretty cold, and we do have an annual pass, but the zoo seemed to be open free for the day. No one checked us at the gate. Anyway, because it was cold we didn't plan on seeing all the animals but the kids wanted to see the snakes, a good choice since it was in a warm buidling, I often skip the snakes since I think the buidling stinks and when we arrive first thing in the morning its not open yet. The animals in the snake house were awesome, so many of them were out playing and eating. It was actually fun. Most of the other animals weren't out, hiding in their houses.
After the zoo we headed home for our new year's celebration. We ate downstairs and watched a movie. We let the kids stay up until 7:30pm (actually they didn't care and fell right to sleep). A and I played a couple of games and meant to go to sleep early, but got to watching a movie, which ended just at the perfect time to watch the ball drop without all of the silly celeb stuff.
We are looking forward to a quieter year and hopefully just getting to spend some fun time together as a family.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
