Day 11 Getting to Jasper

We had always planned on making it to Jasper, but as most days went it took longer than we anticipated. When we got there all of the regular campsites were full. So they pointed the way to the "over flow" campsite.

It was the one day that was hot and didn't rain at all. And we ended up in the middle of a dry field with cars and campers everywhere. Where we didn't feel like we could leave.

Watermelon: I bought this watermelon in Whitehorse, planning on eating it and then we just never found the right time to cut it up. I planned on cutting it that night when A came over and reminded us that there was a grizzly bear roaming the park and all food needed to stay inside. We thought cutting a watermelon and spilling the juice everywhere might not be the safest thing to do.

One of the things that I really worried about before we started this adventure was how the kids would sleep. From the first night I was always amazed at how well they fell asleep, especially  in the tent. From the first day we started reading fairy tales and they would listen and fall asleep. However, this night the boys could not settle down. I read and read and then finally just left them to fall asleep on there own. It was the first time we could hear all the campers around us, but it made for a very long night.
