After we left Olathe, KS we headed south to Southern Colorado to visit with friends. We had to drive on the smaller roads with no rest stops, no restaurants and no towns. It was a long day of driving, but the kiddos were really good in the car.
We arrived at the farm and the boys were ecstatic. They loved all of the tractors, the goats, the dog and being able to run around in the fresh air. Our first morning there they awoke by 6am, and we all went out to see the happenings before breakfast. In the afternoon we went into town for some errands and met up with the rest of the group at the splash park. Bug had the best time, he ran and played and held his own even with the bigger and stranger kids. Baba was a little scared of the water but enjoyed playing on the playground area.
After the splash park the boys wanted to go back out on the farm. They got several rides on the 4-wheeler and were even allowed to hit the gas button.
Baba loved the dog, and luckily the dog didn't seem to mind being mauled, ridden or having its tail pulled.
We also put the boys to work, everyone has to help on the farm.
They loved the goats, they weren't so interested in the milking process, but they loved being able to feed them.
The best part of a good vacation is getting home and we are very glad to be back to our own beds, routines and air conditioning.
(I have a couple more videos if I can get them to down load)
