We had a pretty quiet day on the 4th this year, we opted out of attending our neighbors flag raising, and breakfast party. We didn't have any picnics we had been invited to, we aren't really into fireworks, yet (plus with all the fire danger I felt they weren't necessary) and therefore we kept it at home. We got a couple of projects done around the house, we sat outside while the boys played in their pool and dug in the dirt. We took some quiet time in house to cool off. It was actually a very relaxing holiday, I don't normally think that about the 4th but this was good.
