updates

I have gotten on several times in the last month to give little updates, and then I think those people who may actually read this don't want to hear about potty training, or I couldn't get my pictures to upload so I got frustrated and left the message undone.

Anyway, I will say I am still here and we have had a pretty busy month. After our vacation we took time to settle back into out normal routines. And then we decided to change things up again.

One of the goals we put down for Baba to accomplish this year is the be potty trained. I tried back in May while I was staying with my parents who have bathrooms all over their house, plus I thought with 3 adults to deal with 3 children it would happen immediately, well reality happened and he didn't quite have it down by the time we got home so I admitted defeat for the time being. I put him back in diapers and didn't think about it for 2 months. We went on vacation and didn't stress, but I also knew I wanted to get it done before winter so that while we are at home and still in "training mode" I don't feel quilty if he doesn't have pants on. So Papa took a friday off and played with Bug and took the baby when I didn't actually need her and we got to potty training. Baba did awesome and maybe having that pre-potty training weekend helped, but he knew what we were doing and caught on quite quickly.  He has only made a mess of his bed at night 2 times, and he is waking up dry. Most days we can go where we need to without problems and he loves being a big boy. But he is still 2 and gets distracted occasionally, but nothing like the drama caused by his brother doing the same things.

Also for Baba came the day I decided he could no longer have an afternoon nap. I sooo miss this built in quiet time, but I  prefer him to go to bed when I expect him too, not hours later. He still gets tired and occasionally falls asleep in the chair, but over all he has been pretty good natured about the whole thing  and we are definietly getting to bed at a decent hour again which helps all of our sanity at this house.

For those of you who might be interested, I chopped off my hair. Its pretty cute I think and a major change for me, but I needed the change and something that looks nice even out of bed when there are days I don't get dressed until noon between baby demands and daily chores. (these are the pictures I can't seem to upload).

Bug is showing signs of not getting enough attention and I am working on finding the time to spend with just him, I am trying to find a weekly date time for both the boys to spend with one parent or the other, but so far they haven't been very effective, I will keep looking for better things to do, or times to play. Bug is such a special young man and he is so smart and energetic, dramatic and emotional. I does get overlooked because of the demands of baby and he does know all my buttons and push them to get attention, but I love him so much. We'll work it out.

Rory is growing leaps and bounds. She has started to eat solid foods, she laughs out loud, she rolls 3/4 over but hasn't quite gotten flipped yet. She gives kisses and loves her brothers so much, especially Bug, her smiles are biggest when she can see him. She loves playing with her fingers and toes and has started grabbing things. She jumps in her jumper and is currently dealing with her first cold. She doesn't like sneezing!

That's our quick update and once I figure out why I can't get my photos to upload I will correct the problem and put some cute pictures up of the growing children.
